EMWQ FUND DISTRIBUTES YEAR END GIFTS

12/31/2013

Dear Friends:

This year we have made a tremendous difference to hundreds of women and children, left widowed and orphaned, when a member of the Chicago Fire Department passed away.

The generosity of our supporters brightened the holiday for 672 widows and 80 orphaned children who received a gift check this Christmas from the Ende Menzer Walsh and Quinn Retirees’ Widows’ and Children’s Assistance Fund. This year we distributed $612,500 in tax-free assistance.

We cannot thank our supporters enough for their kindness. These gifts help more than you can imagine.

The Ende, Menzer, Walsh and Quinn Retirees’, Widows’, and Children’s Assistance Fund supports the neediest widows of the Chicago Fire Department, 337 of whom earn less than $1,000 a month from their spouses pension. Another 385 widows rely on less than $1,500 of monthly pension benefits.

The Ende, Menzer, Walsh and Quinn Retirees’ Widows’ and Children’s Assistance Fund also supports the children of firefighters and paramedics who pass away while in active service with the Chicago Fire Department with immediate assistance at the time of death and an annual gift. The assistance is not limited to those who die in the line-of-duty.

I hope we can count on your continued support.

Your gift truly matters. I invite you to continue your support of the families of the Chicago Fire Department by making a gift online.

With warmest regards,

Lt. Anthony R. Martin
President
Ende, Menzer, Walsh and Quinn Retirees’ Widows’ and Children’s Assistance Fund
